The Malta based firm Fenech Farrugia Fiott Legal (FFFL) has joined the RWG

14th March 2013

Malta does not have a railway industry, but has a strong international reputation in the field of asset finance. Malta’s successful ship register is widely attributed to the country’s forward looking mobile asset mortgage law, first developed in 1972. The asset finance legal infrastructure of Malta was back under focus when Malta was among the first EU countries to ratify the Cape Town Convention, timed with a complete overhaul of the island’s aircraft registration infrastructure.

FFFL has a strong transport and asset finance practice; its partners have contributed substantially to the country’s successful efforts in this area of law. Participation in the RWG has been seen as a natural step to take, in line with the firm’s policy of participating in and contributing to the success of forward-looking international initiatives.
