The European Union Council meeting confirmed their support for the Luxembourg Rail Protocol

On 30th November the European Union Council meeting confirmed their support for the Luxembourg Rail Protocol, and officially signed the Luxembourg Protocol on 10th December in Rome.

The Secretary-General of UNIDROIT, Mr José Angelo Estrella-Faria, congratulated the European Union on its decision to sign the Luxembourg Protocol, noting that the European Union’s decision followed a long history of very positive participation by the European Union and its Member States in the development of the Cape Town Convention system, and signalled a strong vote of confidence by the European Union in the Luxembourg Protocol.
