The European Commission announces proposal for EU ratification of the Luxembourg Protocol. ERHAEGEN WALRAVENS has joined the RWG.

On 11th June the EU Commission proposed to the European Union that it adopts the Luxembourg Protocol. The proposal is scheduled to be discussed at a meeting of the Council of Ministers on 20th September 2013.

The proposal will also need to be considered by the European Parliament and the EU ratification, if it follows, will only apply to areas in the Luxembourg Protocol which are “EU competence”. EU member states of the EU will also need to separately ratify the Luxembourg Protocol for it to be fully effective in that state.
