A report by Roland Berger for UNIFE issued on 1st September, reports that recent growth in the railway supply sector has been at a phenomenal rate of 9% and estimates annual growth looking forward of 2 – 2.5% is expected for the next 9 years.

RWG participates in Africa Rail 2010

 

RWG Chair Howard Rosen and Secretary Martin Fleetwood were both at the Africa Rail 2010 conference which took place in Johannesburg at the beginning of June. Howard Rosen took part in a panel discussion on “Financial Rolling Stock, Asset Management and Leasing for Funds” while Martin Fleetwood spoke on “Looking at ways of Opening up Rail Networks to Competition”.

Howard Rosen and Martin Fleetwood, together with RWG members Claire van Zuylen and José Snyders from respectively lawyers Bowman Gilfillan and Rand Merchant Bank then took a full day workshop in Johannesburg on “Asset Management, Profitable Leasing and Rolling Stock Procurements” as part of the Conference.
